Say Goodbye to Summer?

A strong cold front will move across the area tonight bringing an end to showers and thunderstorms that have been affecting the area off and on all day.  Skies will become mostly clear later tonight as winds shift to the northwest allowing drier, and much cooler air to overspread northern Illinois. The low temperature overnight will be around 60 degrees. On Sunday it will be mostly sunny, becoming breezy, and much cooler with a high only in the low 70's. It will really feel like fall on Sunday night with the temperatures dropping into the upper 40's. This will be the coolest weather we have seen since the 27th of May when the overnight low was 38 degrees. There will be an extended period of very nice weather this week with lots of sunshine with afternoon temperatures in the low to middle 70's. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday night and Friday.
