Pieces of Satellite to Hit Earth

A 6-ton, inoperable NASA research satellite is expected to hit earth sometime early this weekend. The Aerospace Corporation in California expects the satellite to hit earth late Friday afternoon, give or take 14 hours. Most likely much of the satellite will burn-up in the earth's atmosphere before it hits, and it will probably land in the open waters of the Pacific Ocean. Still, NASA will be monitoring its progress closely.

The satellite is 20 years old, and will be the biggest NASA spacecraft to fall uncontrolled from space in 32 years.
