Severe weather possible in the south next couple of days

Stronger thunderstorms are possible this afternoon across Texas and central Oklahoma as a developing area of low pressure builds across southern Texas today.  Wind, hail and even isolated tornadoes will be possible especially northwest of Dallas and west of Oklahoma City.

The severe weather threat will shift further north and east Tuesday as the jetstream pushes the surface low out of Oklahoma and into northern Missouri by Tuesday evening.  While the greatest threat for active thunderstorms will lie across Arkansas, Louisiana and east Texas a few storms aren't out of the question for us as the warm front basically lies right over top the area.  Clouds will be with us most of the day Tuesday which will limit our instability at the surface but there may be just enough a few thousand feet above to get elevated thunderstorms to form.  Should these storms develop heavier rainfall along with small hail would be our primary concerns.
