Another Chilly and Damp Weekend

Temperatures have been below average for quite some time and this weekend was no different.  Cloud cover was pretty persistent both Saturday and Sunday - although the clouds did clear some late Sunday afternoon.

Temperatures on Saturday were stuck in the 40's due to thick cloud cover, spotty rain showers throughout the day and an east wind.  Temperatures Sunday were a little warmer, but there was very little improvement with the weather.  The fog was thick early Sunday morning and the cloud cover stuck around through much of the day.  A strong cold front came through early Sunday not allowing temperatures to warm much throughout the afternoon.

There was quite a bit of warmth further south and east Sunday, however.  And that's where the majority of severe weather has been occurring.  Severe thunderstorms continue for parts of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio Sunday evening and will continue to move east Sunday night.

Cooler air is beginning to move in behind the cold front.  This will help keep clouds around through the night, not allowing temperatures to fall much past the mid 30's by Monday morning.  Unfortunately with cloud cover moving back in from the west, temperatures won't warm up much Monday afternoon.  Highs Monday will remain right around 40 degrees.
