Warmer Winds Return Monday

We will use the word 'warmer' because the wind direction Monday afternoon will be from the southwest.  It might not *feel* the warmest because the winds will gusting at times close to 25 mph.  Despite the wind direction, it may still feel a little cool with the breeze during the afternoon.

But our temperatures will be warmer than what they were over the weekend.  High pressure centered over the southern Plains Sunday evening will slide east into the Mid-Atlantic by Monday afternoon.  At the same time low pressure will quickly dive south from Canada into the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes.  The difference in pressure between the two systems will cause the increasing wind Monday afternoon and early evening.

Temperatures Sunday over the Plains warmed into the mid and upper 50's, with a many locations in the central and southern Plains in the 60's.  I expect our highs in the Stateline to warm at least back up near average, which is 46 degrees, if not a little warmer for some.

The low pressure will bypass us to the north, but the cold front does move through early Tuesday.  Moisture will be limited, but there could be enough to wring out a passing shower or two through the morning.  Temperatures will cool by Wednesday with highs expected to only reach the low to mid 30's.
