Our first taste of fall-like weather will arrive soon, but we have a few more warm days before we get there. Thursday and Friday will see highs between 10-20° above average with Thursday reaching the mid to upper-70s and Friday reaching the mid-80s. Winds will pick up Friday afternoon ahead of our next weather system, potentially leading to elevated fire weather.
Our next cold front will slide through Friday night into Saturday morning, with a small region of moisture along it. We may see a few showers into Saturday morning, but it is unlikely we see much meaningful rainfall.
Early next week is when the true fall air arrives. A strong upper level trough will surge Southward from Canada, bringing with it a strong pool of very cold air and the first outbreak of true fall air.
The weekend will be another windy one, especially on Sunday behind a secondary cold front. High temperatures will be in the 60s on Sunday and in the 50s Monday through Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the 30s, with a chance for patchy frost Monday night and Tuesday night.
