It looks like our weather for the next week will depend on the track of the jet stream. If the jet stream moves to the south, we will be seeing cooler temps with better chances for rain. While the cooler temperatures would be some relief, they would still be in the low to mid 90s. In other words, we would not necessarily cool down the way we want. On the other hand, if the jet stream tracks further north, we will still be very hot, and our chances for rain will greatly diminish. Previous records show that the jet stream has a tendency to stay further north this time of year, so things are not looking too good.
