To say last week was hot is definitely an understatement. It was also record breaking in several ways. Here's a quick rundown of what we saw:
-Four straight days of 100+ degree weather. That last time that happened was in 1936.
-Three straight days of record breaking highs (Wed-Fri), with a tied record high on Saturday.
-The hottest day of 2012. In fact, Saturday was the hottest day in Rockford since we set our all-time record high of 112 back in 1936.
Fortunately, the forecast is providing some much needed relief from the heat over the coming days. Highs should stay in the 80s over the coming days, with a warmup into the 90s with some humidity by the weekend.
