10:50 am: Strongest of the storm passing just to the east/northeast of Amboy and continues to move east around 35-40 mph. Hail up to half an inch was reported with the storm in Amboy along with heavy rain. Looks like there has been some additional development trying to get going to the north near Polo as these storms move into an environment that remains fairly unstable. Heavy rain, hail, wind and frequent lightning continue to remain possible.
An outflow boundary from storms near the Quad Cities earlier this morning has quickly raced north producing a few thunderstorms this morning.
Right now storms near Amboy in Lee county will continue to produce heavy rain, frequent lightning gusty winds as well as hail pea to penny sized. These storms are currently moving east around 35 mph. As of right now, there are no warnings but additional storm development remains possible through the afternoon as a warm front tries to lift north..
