After seeing a severe weather event on Wednesday evening, things have quieted down across the Midwest, including the Stateline region. That trend will continue into this weekend. Plenty of sunshine is expected both Saturday and Sunday with high pressure just off to our south across portions of the Mid-South.
With high pressure in place, clouds will have a hard time forming, which is why I think Saturday will be sunny. A few clouds are possible Sunday as that high slides off to the east a little bit more. Another important aspect of having high pressure move to the east is we enter the region behind it, which gives us southerly winds as winds rotate clockwise around high pressure centers.
With the winds turning more southerly for both Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will respond accordingly and jump into the middle 50's for Saturday and upper 50's for Sunday. Several locations may reach the lower 60's on Sunday, a far cry from the 40's we have seen the past few days.
Make sure you get out and enjoy the weekend, though, because we are already watching our next large storm system that looks to affect the area through much of next week with plenty in the way of rainfall.
