Model mayhem
We've been talking about the well-above-average early April temperatures quite a bit on this site. While that looks to continue through about Thursday of this week, cooler air will arrive by Friday morning. A pretty significant cold front will push through the area in the wee hours of the morning on Friday. The amount of cold air behind this front, however, is in question at this point. The global model suggests a quick shot of cold air with temperatures rebounding quickly Saturday into sunday. However, the European model hints that the cold air could hang around for awhile. In fact, it's a good 4C (about 7F) cooler than the global model on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. If this scenario pans-out, we would only be in the low-to-mid 50s for highs on Saturday and Sunday. But for now we're taking the more optimistic route and leaning towards believing the global model, which would suggest highs in the low 60s this weekend. --TS
