A sonic boom may wake you up Tuesday morning
The Space Shuttle Discovery is scheduled to return to earth on Tuesday morning. On its way to landing in Florida, it'll pass over North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and northern Illinois among other states. If you're a light sleeper, a sonic boom may wake you before the shuttle lands at Cape Canaveral at about 8:08am central time. It's even possible that TWO sonic booms are heard... One from the shuttle's nose, the other from its tail. If you plan on being up early, you may see an orange streak across the sky as the shuttle passes. And you will see the streak before you hear the "boom(s)" since the shuttle will be travelling faster than the speed of sound! --TS
