As expected, many areas saw frost this morning. Temperatures even dropped below freezing in a couple of spots! Here are a few of the more noteable lows from Wednesday morning:
Rockford: 31
DeKalb: 34
Rochelle: 27
Monroe: 37
Beloit: 33
Clear skies, light winds, and a chilly airmass from Canada were the reasons for the frosty start. If you're a fan of warmer weather, I've got good news! Highs will be in the 70s through Saturday. And thanks to more clouds and a warm southerly wind, freezing overnight temperatures won't be seen for awhile. In fact, the average last freeze in Rockford is May 1st. So barring any late-spring cold snaps, we may be in the clear until autumn! --TS
