THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A

INDIANA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN ILLINOIS...

BOONE...COOK...DE KALB...LEE...MCHENRY...OGLE...AND WINNEBAGO.

* FROM MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

* A THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX IS EXPECTED TO EVOLVE ACROSS IOWA THIS

EVENING...THEN MOVE EAST ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN AND FAR

NORTHERN ILLINOIS OVERNIGHT AND INTO FRIDAY MORNING. IF THESE

STORMS DEVELOP AS FORECAST...THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SEVERAL

INCHES OF RAINFALL WITHIN THE WATCH AREA.

AT THIS TIME...THE GREATEST THREAT OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL LIES

ACROSS EXTREME NORTHERN ILLINOIS. HOWEVER...THE WATCH AREA

EXTENDS SOUTH THROUGH THE INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDOR DUE TO ONGOING

RESIDUAL EFFECTS FROM EXCESSIVE RAINFALL EARLIER TODAY.

* RAINFALL RATES WITH HEAVIER STORMS WILL LIKELY EXCEED ONE INCH

PER HOUR...AND MAY RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL

STREAMS...LOW LYING AREAS...AND URBANIZED AREAS.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD

TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION

SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
