Severe Storms with Extremely High Winds in Southern WI

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ROCK AND GREEN
UNTIL 830 PM CDT...

AT 814 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PING PONG BALL SIZE HAIL...AND EXTREME DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 100 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR EVANSVILLE...MOVING EAST AT 55 MPH.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...EDGERTON...DOWNTOWN JANESVILLE...MILTON...BELOIT...JANESVILLE AIRPORT...CLINTON...FULTON...HANOVER...INDIANFORD...ALBION...AFTON...JOHNSTOWN CENTER...EMERALD GROVE...AVALON...TIFFANY AND SHOPIERE.

THIS STORM HAS EXHIBITED SOME WEAK ROTATION. TORNADOES CAN DEVELOP
QUICKLY FROM SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. ALTHOUGH ONE IS NOT IMMEDIATELY LIKELY...IF A TORNADO IS SPOTTED...ACT QUICKLY AND MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE... SUCH AS A BASEMENT OR SMALL INTERIOR ROOM.
THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING DESTRUCTIVE WINDS AND LARGE DAMAGING HAIL. SEEK SHELTER NOW INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS!

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH TORNADO LIKE WIND SPEEDS EXPECTED. MOBILE HOMES AND HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES ARE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE AND MAY BE OVERTURNED. MOVE IMMEDIATELY TO A STURDY BUILDING AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
