Early week heavy rainfall - Lake week fall chill

Get ready for some big changes this week.  After temperatures Sunday afternoon reached the low 90's, highs by the end of the week may have a hard time even reaching 70 degrees!  And in between, you can bet we'll get a few thunderstorms - heavy rainfall as well.

If you're spending your Sunday evening in Wisconsin, remain alert for the possibility of a few stronger storms by sunset.  Weather conditions are currently being monitored for the possibility of a severe weather watch for most of central and southwest Wisconsin by this evening.  Storms are currently developing along a cold front in the Plains, where stronger storms are likely through Sunday night.

By Monday morning, that front settles closer to central Wisconsin and Iowa with storms weakening as they move into northern Illinois.  The cold front then slips just south of Interstate 88 during the afternoon Monday, which should keep our skies cloudy.  Unfortunately there won't be much relief from the humidity on Labor Day.  With copious amounts of moisture still present in the atmosphere humidity values will remain high.

Low pressure developing in the central Plains Monday will keep the threat for additional heavy rain producing thunderstorms Monday night, and then again Tuesday night.  Localized rainfall amounts near three inches are very well possible for towns near the Wisconsin/Illinois border.

Following the passage of the cold front Wednesday, and another on Thursday, highs Friday and Saturday will struggle to reach 70 degrees!  Overnight lows both Friday and Saturday night will drop into the 40's.
