Splitting the difference: Temperature spread across Wisconsin and Illinois

Winds shifting around to the north and northeast Thursday afternoon following a weak cool front, and behind a lake breeze, caused temperatures to drop into the 70's, and even a few upper 60's in Wisconsin.  Temperatures at O'Hare dropped from 89 degrees down to 77 degrees within an hour!  That's impressive.

And tomorrow, that temperature difference could be felt again.  The cool front will turn stationary Friday afternoon.  Temperatures north and east of the boundary, where an east wind will be present, will likely remain in the 70's.  Temperatures west and south of the front will warm into the upper 80's and even low 90's.

Now with an isolated thunderstorm in the forecast for Friday, temperatures may cool a little following any rainfall.  By the weekend, the warm front pulls north and temperatures will really rise for the afternoon.  Highs Saturday will hit 90 degrees and low 90's for Sunday.
