9:50pm Update: Storms from earlier Thursday evening are done, but with the cool front over northern Illinois overnight and copious amounts of moisture in place, an isolated thunderstorm or two can't be ruled out by dawn Friday. But with the overall coverage expected to remain below 30 percent, the First Warn Weatherisk remains Low.
While the front won't be as pronounced Friday, there will be a few thunderstorms that develop with the heating of the day late afternoon and evening Friday. Those shouldn't have too much of an impact on the Friday night football games, but some of the sophomore games could be dealing with thunderstorms.

6:35pm Update: Thunderstorms continue to back build across southern Wisconsin Thursday evening, right along a weak cool front. These storms have had a history of producing torrential downpours and are currently moving to the southeast. They will likely remain north of Rockford.
JUST IN: A Flood Advisory has been issued for southern Rock County in Wisconsin until 8pm. A slow moving storm near Beloit is producing heavy rainfall. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in and around the area.
Phew...it's HOT outside! Dangerous heat expected through 7pm Thursday night as the heat index has reached near 100 degrees in a few locations! So, if you're planning on being outside Thursday evening, take it slow!
We've been pretty dry this week, but a few showers have now developed in southern Wisconsin with a weak cool front. Overall coverage is expected to be isolated, but with the high moisture values in the atmosphere heavy rain is a very good possibility.
Following the front, the wind has shifted to the north in Wisconsin and down Lake Michigan causing a lake breeze to develop. Those two features will keep the possibility of thunderstorms in the forecast through 11pm Thursday night. Isolated thunderstorms are possible, again, Friday.
