A low pressure system is moving through Wisconsin Saturday evening and will eventually move into southeastern Canada before stalling for 24-36 hours. As a result, we will see northwesterly winds behind that system Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Within those northwesterly winds will exist a few waves of low pressure -- also referred to as troughs of low pressure. As each of those troughs move through the region, there will be a small chance of a few sprinkles or showers. The exact timing of any showers is difficult to pinpoint, but Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Monday afternoon and evening look to feature the best (10-25%) chance of a few very isolated showers.
Not only will our breezy northwesterly winds keep a slight chance of showers or sprinkles in the forecast through Tuesday, but they will keep our high temperatures in the lower to middle 70s. In fact, our overnight lows on Tuesday night may drop below 50°! Brr! The low will move away by late Tuesday, which will allow winds to turn westerly and eventually southwesterly by Wednesday and especially Thursday. That means warmer air. In this case, it will mean hotter air as lower 90s look very much possible by Friday and Saturday!
