Sunday afternoon's high temperature of 75 degrees sure did feel nice! This compared to the 91 degrees reached both Friday and Saturday.
A cold front Saturday night helped bring in a cooler and drier air mass all thanks to easterly winds. Near the lake shores of Lake Michigan temperatures were even cooler. You can tell where the front ended up Sunday just based on temperatures during the evening! You can even pick out where the upper level ridge is located in
the atmosphere with the heat drawn all the way into the northern Plains. And that's where all the storms have been this afternoon.
The cold front that passed Saturday will be pulled back north as a warm front during the afternoon Monday. This will be a result of low pressure forming over the Plains. As the front is lifted back north, temperatures will warm. This means a fairly pleasant start to Monday but a slightly uncomfortable end. Now, depending on
the amount of cloud cover Monday temperatures could easily warm back into the upper 80's, but we might end up with a little more cloud cover which would hold temperatures in the low to mid 80's.
The warm front will pass the area by Monday night bringing an increased chance for storms during the night and into Tuesday. The front will then stall very close to the state line leaving the threat for storms through Wednesday morning.
