It has been hot and humid for the past 48 hours with highs in the lower 90s both Friday and Saturday. Add dew points in the 60s and 70s and you've got the recipe for muggy conditions. However, once you wake up Sunday you notice quite the change in how it feels outside. That is because a cold front is working its way south from Wisconsin. Once it passes, winds will shift to northeasterly, dew points will drop drastically, and temperatures will fall quickly. That means Sunday morning we will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s before only warming into the upper 70s. Even better, our dew point temperatures won't exceed 50° in many spots. That means it'll feel pleasant for mid-June!
Then, the heat and humidity ramp right back up beginning on Monday with highs near 90° and dew points in the mid-60s. Not only that, but an approaching low and trailing cold front will spark showers and storms Monday evening across the area. It won't be a persistent, washout type of rain, but scattered thunderstorms are definitely possible. And Monday is only the beginning. A stationary front will hang out just to our south through Wednesday. That, combined with a second low pressure system that will move in from near Minneapolis by Wednesday, will yield showers and storms for both Tuesday and Wednesday with warm and muggy conditions remaining in place.
The best chance for any precipitation does look to be Tuesday or Wednesday, with Wednesday's threat possibly being slightly higher. Again, it doesn't look like a complete washout on any given day, but Wednesday could be quite wet and stormy.
