It's been nearly a week since any significant rain fell across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, and it's beginning to get a little dry. Rain showers have been few and far between, and while that's been nice following a very rainy June, we do need about an inch of rain per week during the month of June, July and August during the growing season.
Skies remain mostly dry through Friday morning, but isolated thunderstorms are possible by Friday afternoon and evening. A stationary
boundary sets up over southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois through Saturday, which will lead to scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. As moisture increases from the south, rain could become heavy at times with any of the storms Saturday.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible Sunday, with storms once again increasing in coverage with the arrival of a cold front by Monday.
