Along with an increasing chance for storms this weekend, the heat and humidity will be increasing through the afternoon.
You'll begin to notice a more humid feel as our dew points today climb into the upper 60's with high temperatures in the upper 80's to near 90°. But tomorrow, as we continue to have a southerly wind at the surface we will tug in even more muggy and warm air. Highs Friday look to climb into the low 90's and with dew points in the low 70's... it will be downright oppressive and tropical tomorrow. Heat index values will climb into the upper 90's and potentially low 100's through the afternoon.
Heat advisories are in place across the majority of Iowa, but non have been issued for northern Illinois or southern Wisconsin just yet.
Dew points remain in the low to even mid 70's (thanks to a maturing corn crop) through the weekend, which will keep heat index values in the 90's through the weekend. There will be added cloud cover Saturday that could keep highs down a couple degrees, but you'll still really notice the humidity through Sunday and Monday. A cold front passing finally brings humidity and temperatures down by Tuesday.
