Despite a cold front moving through northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin Thursday afternoon, it still felt pretty sticky. But that will soon be changing as a much more tolerable air mass moves in Thursday night.
Dew point temperatures the past few days have been in the low to mid 70's, making it feel pretty uncomfortable and pushing the heat index into the upper 90's and low 100's. Drier air arriving with high pressure from the north will bring dew point temperatures down from the 70's, into the 50's for the upcoming weekend. Temperatures will still warm into the low to mid 80's, but it will feel a lot more comfortable Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It'll start to warm up and get a little more humid by next week, but with the majority of moisture blocked from the Gulf of Mexico, it won't feel oppressive like it has.
