Monday's Forecast: Cool with filtered sunshine

Whether it's a thicker jacket, flannel, or a sweatshirt, make sure to have it on before you head out.

Thanks to Sunday's frontal passage, temperatures this morning are starting out 12° to as much as 20° cooler compared to Sunday morning. Out the door, expect most to be in the low 40s, though some will wake up in the upper 30s.

This will remain the trend for the rest of our Monday as a cooler northwest remains in place. Thankfully, winds today won't be as strong as what was encountered both Saturday and Sunday, with top gusts reaching 15 mph. But, it will be enough to leave afternoon highs in the upper 60s. Overnight lows will fall into the low 40s once again.

Troughing moves east of the Great Lakes, allowing a ridge of high pressure to settle across the midsection of the lower 48. This will once again steer any chances for a meaningful rainfall away from the region this week. In fact, we may not see a single raindrop until this weekend as that's when models show another pair of cold fronts marching through. Until then, high and dry with temperatures climbing into the low 80s by Friday afternoon.
