Wednesday morning weather update

Yesterday's frontal passage brought big changes in the form of cooler temperatures, which is really being felt across the area this morning.

Temperatures to start are sitting 15° to as much as 25° cooler than at this point yesterday, leaving most locales in the upper 30s and low 40s. Be sure to have an extra layer or have that thicker jacket on before leaving the house this morning.

High pressure shifting east will allow surface flow to turn to the southwest, bringing temperatures up a few degrees compared to Tuesday. At times, winds this afternoon could gust up to 25 mph, which will leave high temperatures in the low 70s. Skies remain dry into Thursday morning, though temperatures won't be as cool landing in the upper 40s.

Our next cold front will slide through the region Thursday night into early Friday. Unlike Tuesday's frontal passage, this one will have a little bit more moisture to work with, resulting in a few showers and isolated storms. Clouds will stick around for the early portions of  Friday, though more sunshine will emerge as the day progresses. Highs will fall back a few degrees, landing in the low 70s.
