Flash Flood Warning

Winnebago and Boone counties are under a Flash Flood Warning until 11:45 pm tonight. We've already seen heavy rain and numerous reports of flooding this evening, and more rain continues to fall. (The highest total I've seen is 3.5" at Machesney Park with street flooding.) If you're out travelling this evening, watch out for rapidly rising water, especially in low-lying areas and near streams and creeks. If you encounter water of unknown depth, remember to "turn around, don't drown!"  --TS
