A Taste of Fall Coming
It's been no secret that it has been a muggy summer. While our high temperatures haven't really been all that hot, what's been getting us are the relatively high dew points. Well all that is about to change once a cold front sweeps through later this afternoon. A deep low moving through Canada will help carve out a trough across the Midwest and Great Lakes. This combined with a surface high pressure system will bring the 80s we've had the past couple of weeks down to the 70s for highs Wednesday and Thursday. And while it's not so much the cool temperatures you'll notice, it will more than likely be the dew points and the humidity. Looking upstream into the Plains and temperatures as of the 11am hour are in the low 60s but the dew points are in the 40s!! That's the type of dry airmass we have to look forward to for the rest of the week. Now with the surface high pretty much sitting right overhead Wednesday overnight lows could easily fall into the lower 50s with maybe even a few upper 40s (something we haven't seen since the end of May and beginning of June)! Dare I say you might need a jacket by Thursday morning? :)
