The Storm Prediction Center out of Norman, OK has issued a slight risk of severe weather from Wisconsin and Minnesota down through Kansas for Friday. This does include the western portion of the Stateline area, namely Stephenson, western Winnebago, western Ogle, and far northwestern Lee counties. The main threat will be high winds around here. Hail is possible as well, but I don't expect hail to be any larger than marble size if anything. In fact, I'm a little skeptical of severe weather in the first place because most of the upper level energy needed to produced long-lived lines of storms will probably remain to the north of us. And any severe weather on Friday won't make it here until late at night.
Saturday this slight risk of severe weather will shift east and impact the central and eastern parts of the Stateline viewing area during the morning hours. Similarly, the main threat will again be high winds. --TS
