We flirted with the freezing mark as late as yesterday morning across parts of the Stateline. But history shows that we're probably done with freezing temperatures until autumn. Rockford's average last freeze is on May first. Although the latest ever freeze on record occurred on May 28th, such events are very rare. So it's probably OK to plant your garden at this point.
