Severe Weather Afternoon Update

A lake breeze developed earlier in the day and has been the focus for storm development to our east this afternoon. Additional storms may fire all thanks to the lake breeze and additional outflow boundaries that are produced.

4:00 pm Update: Watching the storms developing in Stephenson county to the northeast of Freeport and also in Green county near Monroe.  These are moving to the northeast.  The storm in northeast Stephenson county will likely move into far northwest Winnebago county.  Watch for hail, gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues for all of the WTVO viewing audience until 7pm tonight.

This is a VERY impressive hail core associated with the storm just to the east of Madison.  Watching as it begins to interact with the lake breeze pushing off of Lake Michigan
