Making up for lost time...sort of

After roughly 2"-4" of snow fell early Saturday morning, two more systems will bring accumulating snow to the Stateline by Monday afternoon.  Light snow will fall after midnight tonight with the heaviest accumulating snow falling near the Mississippi River and points west.  It looks like a dusting up to half an inch, maybe an inch, will fall by Sunday morning.  Once that system moves out skies may clear a little during the afternoon before clouds roll back in by Sunday evening.  The next system, currently south of Alaska, will move in late Sunday night and may be able to tap into a little more moisture than the previous ones.  This means accumulating snow between 2"-4" will be likely by Monday morning, which will lead to a slow morning commute.  That system clears out by Monday afternoon with yet another one swinging through late Monday night and early Tuesday.  The jetstream pattern will settle for a day or so by the middle of the week with a stronger system slated to move into the Plains by next weekend.  This means a warm up could be in store with temperatures rising close to 40° and possibly rain as early as next Saturday.
