Monday morning commute impact


8:50 am Update: The snow has ended but untreated roads will remain slick.  Winds aren't too strong but some rural areas may experience a little blowing and drifting of snow through the afternoon and evening. 








As of 4:00am, the City of Freeport Street Superintendent has declared a snow emergency
Effective immediately the Winter Parking Regulations are in effect for the next 48 hours. 


6:25 am Update:  The heaviest of the snow has moved east and south and should end for all around 9am.  Even though the snow will be ending roads, especially untreated ones, will remain snow covered and slick.  Give yourself plenty of time this morning.  Roads conditions should begin to improve by the afternoon.

Snow will be ending from west to east within the next few hours this morning.  A heavier burst of snow move through north-central Illinois producing nearly 3" of snow around the Rockford area.  That band has now moved south and east with areas from Sterling to Sandwich being impacted.  Light snow will continue through the remainder of the morning with a few flurries lingering through the afternoon.
