Northeast Blizzard

A major winter storm is headed for the northeast tonight and Saturday with blizzard conditions and heavy snow expected.  Two storms system will essentially come together later today, the low that brought us rain and snow Thursday and another low that brought storms to the southeast, and move up the eastern seaboard.  Already rain and snow were falling from the Mid-Atlantic up to New York State.  Winter Storm Warnings, Winter Weather Advisories and Blizzard Warnings have been issued as 2-3 FEET of snow could fall from eastern Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island!  Not only will there be an abundance of snow but hurricane force winds are forecast for areas near the coast.  This will cause significant blowing and drifting of snow and make travel late tonight and early Saturday nearly impossible.  Schools have already canceled classes for today and close to 3,000 flights in the northeast have been canceled due to the impending winter storm.
