The Dense Fog Advisory has been extended until 6pm for the following counties: Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Carroll, Whiteside and Stephenson in Northern Illinois and for Green County in Southern Wisconsin.
The Dense Fog Advisory has been extended until 8pm for Rock and Walworth counties in Southern Wisconsin.
The atmosphere from the surface to about 5,000 ft above remains saturated and until drier air moves in behind a cold front tonight, the fog is going to stick around. Visibility remains below half a mile in many locations and in some spots only a few hundred feet. Today, and this evening, are days when you need to use extra care while driving and please turn on your headlights!
