Chilly Weekend Ahead, and a Chance for Snow

Man, what a difference a day makes! It's 35° colder this morning compared to yesterday morning! You'll feel the difference with temperatures in the teens and chills hoovering just below zero.

Temperatures today will only make it into the low 20's, but through the weekend highs will be stuck in the teens. An arctic high will build in from the plains today, leading to blustery northerly winds, but will also bring drier air and some sunshine in the forecast through the weekend.

Saturday night to Sunday morning will be the coldest time period, with overnight lows dropping just below zero. Clouds increase Sunday afternoon ahead of our next low pressure system.

This low will develop in the Central Plains this weekend and then move near the Stateline and into the Great Lakes region. With this forecast path, some snow accumulations will be possible from the Northern Plains, through Minnesota and Iowa, and into northern Illinois and the Great Lakes region. Snow would move in late Sunday
night and will last through Monday afternoon, with a few lingering flurries hanging out into Tuesday. Right now looks like we could see minor snow accumulations, but we will continue to update you as we get a bit closer.
