Slick and Foggy Morning

Areas of locally dense fog are creating issues for commuters this morning, but not only are we dealing with low visibility, there are also slick roads.

Areas of patchy freezing fog and freezing drizzle have been reported this morning creating slick driving conditions and areas of ice on the road. There have also been a few accidents reports due to the slick conditions.

Don't let the air temperature fool you, they are currently in the mid 30's but a few feet lower at the surface our pavement temperatures are at or below the freezing mark. This is causing areas of black ice on area roads, overpasses, bridges, along with sidewalks and driveways.

You'll really want to use caution as you head out the door, leave a longer distance between you and other cars while driving, slow down, and flip on your low beams.

Even though the dense fog advisory has expired a bit early, visibility will remain lower through the late morning. As temperatures continue to rise this afternoon, the fog will erode away. Highs today will climb into the mid to upper 40's.
