Localized Ice Jams Possible This Week

The deep freeze allowed ice to quickly form on many of the local rivers these past two weeks.  But the quick warm up in temperatures, and possibility of light rain Wednesday and Thursday, will allow for runoff into the rivers.

Along with the melting snow, localized ice jam flooding could develop as freshly dislodged ice moves downstream.  Ice jam flooding comes without warning.  So, if you're in an area that is prone to flooding along the river you want to pay close attention to river levels throughout the week.
