Good News for Snow Lovers

Temperatures already in the single digits across the Stateline, and they're only going to get colder as we progress through the overnight due to the clear skies we have in place.  We'll dip to around -4° once we get into the overnight, with wind chills around -15°, so keep those heaters going!

We'll get to see some sunshine Sunday morning before clouds move in towards the middle of the day, setting up the snow showers that we'll receive during the evening.

That low pressure system up to the north will pull heavy amounts of moisture into our area, which will quickly build the cloud cover and also prime our atmosphere for a fairly good snow accumulation during the evening.

Along with the heavy moisture inflow we've also got a cold front that'll be moving into our area, which will further increase instability and allow for all that moisture to lift.  This will result in some lighter snow beginning around 3pm Sunday afternoon, with the heavier snowfall expected to start around 5pm.

Between the heavier snow starting after 5pm, and not ending until early Monday morning, we can expect between 3.5 to 4 inches of snow total during that time period.  This will allow for rough road conditions starting Sunday evening, so keep this in mind if you plan on going anywhere during the evening or the late-night hours.

The snow will continue through the day on Monday, but the snow will be lighter by Monday morning.  However, roads will continue to be very messy, so definitely allow more time to get to work as it will take a while before the roads can be cleared, especially since the snowfall is expected to continue through most of the day Monday.
