Rockford had a streak of 40 hours with temperatures below zero this week. It started Sunday night and ended Tuesday afternoon. During that streak, our coldest air temperature was -18° and our coldest wind chill was -46°. Below, you can see how this week has compared to some of the worst cold snaps in Rockford history.
The bad news? We dip back below zero Tuesday night, with lows expected to be close to -10°. The good news? Highs warm into the double-digits for Wednesday and into the 30s by week's end. -BA
