The warmest air since December 28th is heading towards the Stateline and we will actually get above 40° on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure is set up over the Gulf Coast. Winds turn clockwise around high pressure systems and that will bring in warmer air. Warmer temps coupled with some sunshine should cause the ice to melt on back roads. As of Saturday night, residential and rural roads were still very slick causing multiple accidents. By Sunday afternoon during peak heating, road problems should be minimal. - MT
