The Dense Fog and Freezing Fog Advisory has been canceled for Northern Illinois. The Freezing Fog Advisory continues for Green, Rock and Walworth counties until Noon.
We've got a lot to get to, so here we go:
Freezing Fog Advisory for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Green, Rock and Walworth counties until Noon
Dense Fog Advisory for Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Carroll and Whiteside counties until 10am
Freezing Rain Advisory for Rock and Walworth counties beginning at 1pm
Winter Weather Advisory for Green County beginning at Noon
Rising dew points over 6" to 16" of snow has allowed dense fog to form this morning. Temperatures are beginning below 32 degrees which could lead to freezing fog, especially on bridges and overpasses. Allow yourself extra time to get to work and school. The fog will persist through the morning and even into the afternoon. Once the rain begins, visibility will gradually begin to improve into the evening.
Temperatures will slowly rise above 32 degrees this afternoon as a warm front moves into Northern Illinois. As the front moves closer, there is the potential for a little freezing drizzle/light rain until mid-afternoon when temperatures rise above freezing in Northern Illinois. Temperatures in Southern Wisconsin will be slow to rise so the likelihood of freezing rain continuing into the afternoon will be a little higher with minor ice accumulation possible.
