Around 6pm Saturday night, the snow moved out of the Stateline. A half foot was recorded in some cities near the Mississippi River while officially at Rockford Airport, we got just over 2" of snow. A snow emergency is in effect for Rockford meaning odd/even street parking is in effect through Sunday. Here's a look at northern Illinois snow totals.
Even though the snow is done, there will be some visibility issues Saturday night. There will be some areas of very dense fog around the Stateline but as winds pick up out of the southwest by Sunday morning, blowing snow becomes the greater concern throughout the day impacting rural roads. By Sunday night, the wind will slack off a little bit and road conditions should be favorable. - MT
