Monday Morning Commute Update

The Dense Fog Advisory is still in place for all of northern Illinois through noon, but has now been cancelled for southern Wisconsin. Visibility is around a quarter of a mile or lower for many across the area so you'll want to use caution on your commute this morning.

Visibilities are still low as you head into Chicago, and O'hare temporarily had it's flights grounded earlier this morning, so you'll want to call ahead if you were planning on flying today.

Another commute issue this morning will be the possibility for freezing fog as our temperatures are at or below the freezing mark, causing some slick spots on the roadways.

The dense fog will continue to improve as we head into the later portions of the morning, but how long the fog lingers will have an impact on our temperatures. Right now highs look to reach the low 40's but if the fog lingers longer into the afternoon, temperatures will be held back. If we're able to burn away the fog earlier, then temperatures have the ability to warm into the upper 40's.
