Temperatures will warm Tuesday night as a warm front lifts north into Wisconsin by Wednesday morning.
Snow will spread northeast through the northern Plains and upper Midwest Tuesday and Wednesday following a strong low pressure system. Northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin will remain on the 'warm' side of the system, so snow will not be in the forecast.
Highs Wednesday will be achieved early in the day, with numbers falling into the late afternoon. There is a chance temperatures could reach 50 degrees, but that would be by Noon. When you head home from work or school, temperatures will be falling through the low 40's.
Winds will also increase Wednesday morning following the passage of the low. Wind gusts to 35 mph will be common through the afternoon and early evening.
Following the cold front Wednesday night, colder air moves in from the northwest. Temperatures will continue to cool Thursday with highs in the middle 30's. Friday will be the coldest day with temperatures reaching the upper 20's. Not too terrible considering the month, but it will feel a lot colder because of the unseasonable warmth we've been experiencing the past several weeks.
The cold won't last because temperatures will warm once again late in the weekend and into next week.
