After a beautiful, warm weekend with high temperatures at 90 degrees for both Saturday and Sunday, we enter the work week with changes in store. A cold front located in western Iowa is poised to make a move towards the Stateline and will bring increased chances for rain and thunderstorms, the first chances coming early Monday morning.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Stateline in the Slight Chance area for severe weather, with the main threats including high winds and hail. We can certainly use the rain as we are already 3/4" below the expected rainfall this far into August and July ranked the 7th driest in history! We should see rain tomorrow and then have a number of additional chances for rain on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
