Weekend Heat and Strong Storms Possible Monday

It's been a beautiful Thursday across the Stateline, with temperatures barely hitting the low 80's for some spots with a good amount of sunshine.  The evening looks to be just as nice, but enjoy the nice weather while you can, because we've got some hot conditions on the way, along with storm chances as we head into the beginning of next week.

As we go through the evening, the skies will gradually clear up, allowing for a nice sunset! Temperatures will dip to the upper 60's late evening, before cooling quickly to around 60° during the overnight.  High pressure dominates the overnight, which will bring us some patchy fog around 4am.

That same high pressure system will die off during Friday afternoon, but we'll still get to see plenty of sunshine.  A low pressure system to the northwest will bring a warm front to the area, which will skim the far western portion of the Stateline. Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Whiteside counties have chances for seeing a few thunderstorms during Friday evening, but otherwise we stay dry.
After that warm front pushes northward during the overnight Friday night, hot and humid air will rush in to ramp up our temperatures for the weekend.  Temperatures will be in the low 90's both Saturday and Sunday, but the high humidity will bring Heat Indices into the mid to upper 90's, so be cautious if heading outdoors this weekend.

Everything will start cooling down after Sunday, as a small cold front will push through the area.  However, the approaching front will bring chances for thunderstorms Sunday evening and night.  Monday will be the most active weather day, as that front will push through the area.  Some thunderstorms will be on the strong side, but everything will clear up once we get into Monday evening.

Afterwards, we maintain the mid 80's with another chance for rain next Thursday.
