Summer Heat Dominates the Weekend

It's been a fairly nice Friday in the Stateline, seeing some sunshine with warmer temperatures in the mid 80's.  We keep these conditions during the evening, but it'll become a little more muggy during the evening as a weak warm front will make its way through the area.  The front won't do much for rain, but it will be the beginning of the process that leads up to the heat wave that's in store for us this weekend.

As we head through the overnight, the humidity will increase due to the tropical air that'll start flowing into our area.  Temperatures will be mild in the mid 60's, and skies will stay mostly clear amidst the high moisture content.

That heat and humidity will keep pushing through the area as we go through the weekend, keeping conditions hot and muggy for Saturday and Sunday.  We'll be in the low 90's both days with lots of sunshine, but the sun won't really be our friend this weekend.  A brief, pop-up storm will be possible Saturday due to the heat, otherwise we're expected to stay dry this weekend.

Temperatures will warm up fast going through Saturday, with Heat Indices hitting 90° by mid-day, so keep this in mind even if you plan on doing outdoor activities in the morning, because it'll be hot during that time too.

By the afternoon, Heat Indices will hit the mid 90's, even upper 90's for some.  Definitely stay hydrated if heading out in the afternoon, because the sun will continue shining during that time, which only amplifies the heat further.

DO NOT leave pets or kids in the car on Saturday or Sunday, as temperatures inside the car can hit 140° in just 40 minutes with these conditions.
