Storm Threat Ending Locally Monday Evening

Thunderstorms early Monday morning helped to stabilize the atmosphere over northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.  This will help keep our skies mostly dry through the remainder of Monday evening.  Strong to severe thunderstorms have developed over northwest Indiana where higher instability remains, and this is the area where the highest storm threat will persist through the evening.  Damaging winds and hail will be the biggest concerns, along with heavy rainfall.  A Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms remains in place south of I-80 through the night.

There is a small line of showers and isolated storms moving into southern Wisconsin, but those are expected to weaken and fade away within the next couple of hours.

With skies turning partly cloudy through the night locally dense fog will be possible by Tuesday morning.  Visibility could fall below one mile in some locations where clearing is a little more significant.
