Clouds this morning holding temperatures down some

1:20pm Update:  Skies are beginning to clear this afternoon with temperatures rising into the upper 80s and low 90s.  Dew points in the low 70s already are bringing the heat index values into the middle 90s - although they are closer to 100° just to our southwest.  Going forecast still looks on track for this afternoon.  A Heat Advisory continues for all of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois through this evening.

As thunderstorms continue to move down Lake Michigan and Indiana this morning the cloud cover continues to spill into southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.  Temperatures as a result have been slow to rise...we're currently at 80°, closer to Chicago temperatures are in the upper 70s but further west the mercury has risen into the mid and upper 80s where clear skies reside.

I still expect our skies to become partly cloudy as we go into the afternoon, but if the cloud cover hangs around too much longer we may only reach the low 90s.  Dew points, however, are still rising so the humidity will continue into this afternoon.
